Five Reasons Why I Love Disney World!
My dad took me to Disneyland for my 6th birthday. Disney World didn’t exist then, although Walt was busy buying property in Orlando. I loved Disneyland…the teacups…It’s a Small World…even now I can smell the cotton candy.
Ever since I became a mom, I’ve been taking my children to Disney World since 1986…why? Because it really is the place where dreams come true.
Reason # 5: Where else can you go as an adult and pretend you’re six years old?
Reason # 4: Space Moutain…’nuf said!
Reason # 3: Escaping from the real world into a world of delightful fun.
Reason # 2: Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Frontierland, and the new Pirates of the Caribbean.
Reason # 1: Memories…the memories I have, beginning when I was six, are some of my best memories. I remember being scared when I got into the boat for the Pirates of the Carribbean ride back in 1969.
I remember spinning Jessica in the tea cups when she was two.
I remember Christina’s squeal as we plummeted down in Splash Mountain on her 6th birthday.
I remember staying at The Grand Floridian on a business trip that I was able to bring Christina with me…she was 15…and we walked around the world at Epcot and got our pictures taken with Tigger and Winnie-the-Pooh.
I remember taking Jessica with me in 2004, a week before my breast cancer surgery. We stayed at The Coronado Springs Resort and the day we visited Disney World, I told her as we entered the gate, “remember, today you are six. Let’s have fun.” We ate dinner in Cinderella’s Castle and had the best seat in the house.
I remember 2006, the day after Richard and I got married, we honeymooned at Disney. We stayed at The Shades of Green and for 6 fabulous days, we were six years old.
Any day now, I am going to become a grandmother and the one place I can’t wait to take my grand-daughter is Disney World…a place where we can both be Princesses for a day!

Reason #1 is why we all go back time and time again. I stayed at Shades of Green for my honeymoon too! Thanks for sharing your tops, I always like seeing others.
Dear Ears,
Thanks for stopping by! I really appreciate that you left a comment.
I’m looking to go back to Disney SOON. After writing my post, I started looking around for a special deal at one of the resort properties so Richard and I could celebrate our 3rd anniversary there!
I’ve never been, but my niece goes every year and it really does seem like the best place on earth!
Megan,
If you get the chance – GO! Disney is magic…and it is so good for the inner child that resides in all of us
