Inquiring Minds Want to Know
Do your actions match your desire?
Do you say one thing but do another?
Are you pysically, mentally and emotionally out of alignment?
What would your life look like if every choice and decision you made (or close to every!) was based on what you truly desire?
Are the decisions you’re making bringing you closer toward your desires or farther away from them?
There’s this saying: “If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting.” Do you like what you’re currently getting? If you do, that’s AWESOME…but if you don’t, what are you going to do about it?
Who are you and what do you really want?
Wow, those are hard hitting questions! I guess I would have to say MOST of the time my actions are in alignment with my desires. There are things we all have to do (chores, cooking, errands) that may interrupt focus. I juggle a lot, don’t you?
Hi SuZen!
What started me with these questions was an email I got from The Professor (the dude who owns the martial arts studio I go to and he’s a 6th degree black belt) – it really got me thinking (hard…and thinking hard is…well…hard!) When we have something we’ve set for ourselves to achieve, so much can and does get in the way. Most of it’s the junk in our head, not the dishes or the grocery shopping, right? Folding laundry is one of my favorite things to do when I’ve reached a writing block and need to burst through it…folding warm, fluffy towels in thirds while my mind works through [whatever].
Thanks for stopping by today!!
Peggy, I so needed to read this today. Especially these words: “What would your life look like if every choice…you made…was based on what you truly desire?”
Good timing on this – thank you! (You just helped me make a decision!)
Hi Megan!
I need to read your guest post on Lance’s blog – I just can’t get there from my work computer (drats!) I must remember to read it tonight from home!
I am SO glad my question helped you make a decision (I love when stuff like that happens!)
xo

Very thought provoking questions. Also extremely timely questions–the very ones I need to wrestle with right now since this morning I found out that my work position is close to being completed eliminated. On the way to the computer I was thinking, okay who am I really genuinely, what do I truly want out of life, how can I turn this into an opportunity for a more fulfilling life/career? Was feeling “stuck” so here is an opportunity to move forward…..In the past couple of years lots of my actions have been based on necessity/survival instead of fulfillment and enrichment. This is the time I can change that.
Hi Joy,
On the one hand, I’m sorry your job is being eliminated. But on the other – Hon, you’ve got an amazing opportunity to live the life you’ve always dreamed of! This is exciting! I hope you embrace the opportunity!
xxoo

Hi Peggy,
First of all, apologies for not getting back here sooner. The last two weeks were insane at work and now I am off so I am getting back to a normal pace of living. I hope that all is awesome with you.
As for your questions, they are so important and vital. Life is so short and so often people waste time doing stuff that truly does not bring them joy. So I am all for being in alignment and I try to live that everyday.
Hi Nadia,
I’m glad things are back to a more normal pace for you!
I so loved your post today! And it reminds me of a post that Megan had a few months ago about “Falling Awake” – I think it took me a good two years to fully fall awake (or at least awake enough to change course!)
Hi It is great to see how we do look at our life and why we are where we are. I fall into alot of these questions for sure .
It is awesome how you pull us readers to a point in our soul to dig deep and feel .
Thanks a bunch!
Welcome to Serendipity Smiles Roberta! I’m so happy these questions made an impact!

You’re right…. isn’t it strange that, as humans, we know what we want but we have this strange ability to do the things that take us further and further away from what we want.
Why do we do that?
I’m tickling your comment box! Thanks for tickling mine!

Why is a good question. My guess is because we’re too afraid to live the life we want – do we deserve it? Are we worthy of it? Sometimes it all boils down to old tapes that have been programmed into us by well-intentioned people, but because their programming has been passed down from other well-intentioned people, we keep on passing down lies, half-truths, and other bad *stuff* that keeps us stuck in the muck of mediocrity.
