If you’ve checked out this month’s issue of Yoga Journal, you’ve probably seen the ad from lululemon athletica. I love it. I ever so gently tore it out of my copy and after I write this, I’m hanging it in my cube to brighten and inspire my stale, soul-less work space.
“Life is full of setbacks. Success is determined by how you handle setbacks.”
“Your outlook on life is a direct reflection of how much you like yourself.”
“FRIENDS are more important than money.”
“Breathe deeply and APPRECIATE the moment. Living in the moment could be the meaning of LIFE.”
“That which matters THE MOST should never give way to that which matters THE LEAST.”
“Stress is related to 99% of ALL illness.”
“Jealousy works the opposite way you want it to.”
“Successful people replace the words “wish,” “should,” and “try” with “I WILL.”
“A daily hit of athletic-induced endorphins gives you the power to make better decisions, helps you be at peace with yourself, and offsets stress.”
“SWEAT once a day to regenerate your skin!”
“DANCE, SING, FLOSS, TRAVEL”
“Observe a plant before and after watering it and relate these benefits to your body and brain.”

Peggy,
I love this!! So uplifting – I can’t help but have an extra bounce in my step after reading these quotes! Awesomeness!!
Hi Lance! That’s exactly how I felt when I saw the ad (and I had to look super hard in the bottom left hand corner to realize this, in fact, was an ad!) It gave me that extra bounce!
I absolutely love those quotes! I can see why you wanted to tear it out and hold onto it.
I especially like these:
“A daily hit of athletic-induced endorphins gives you the power to make better decisions, helps you be at peace with yourself, and offsets stress.”
“Successful people replace the words “wish,” “should,” and “try” with “I WILL.”
And of course the one about money and friends. I feel like the wealthiest woman in the world for the wonderful friends I have!
Hi Megan! Friends ARE more important than money
And like you, I feel incredibly wealthy!
Peggy,
I don’t do yoga but my duaghter does and pointed out lulu lemon a couple of years ago. It’s too much for my budget even on sale items. I love the concept and they sure have their niche down pat. Good example of a successful company. I need to translate what they do to my blog and live happily ever after! LOL
Tess – I agree – their yoga items are a tad expensive. I buy my yoga wear at Walmart, but I so love lululemon’s ad!
Peggy, these are wonderful and so inspiring! Thank you so much for sharing this! I can tell you are a person of light who wants to make the world a better place! Those quotes might start some great conversations at work too! Blessings!
Hi diantha!
I hope they create conversations at work! It sure would break up the monotony!
“Breathe deeply and appreciate the moment. Living in the moment could be the meaning of life”. Wow. Very doable, and free:) I saw the ad as well, but you highlighting the quotes really brings them out. Like you and Megan I know my life is full and rich because of the friendships I am blessed to participate in. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Joy!
“Breathe Deeply and appreciate the moment…” how busy and hectic our lives get and this one thing can totally calm things down and help us regain perspective!
xxoo
Food for the soul, Thanks Peggy!
Welcome sweets!
I read Megan’s comment, agreed with money and friends and then I thought where did she see this . . .
“A daily hit of athletic-induced endorphins gives you the power to make better decisions, helps you be at peace with yourself, and offsets stress.” ??????
I totally missed this quote and you can guess why. Athletic induced endorphines are NOT my thing and thus I totally had blindness for that one. Fancy that!
I loved this one as I do do that
“Observe a plant before and after watering it and relate these benefits to your body and brain.”
I can imagine having this in your cubicle will give your mind a stroll.
Love Wilma
Hi Wilma,
You gave me a good giggle with “Athletic induced endorphines are NOT my thing.”
I have a few things on my list of “things I’ll never do” so I totally relate!
Usually, for me, by the time I’ve remembered to water the plant, it’s already in a DNR status. God skipped me when He was passing out green thumbs But I liked the quote
HI Peggy,
What lovely and all inspiring quotes! You know i have a thing for quotes….i mean its my hobby to collect perfect quotes. OS these are going in my collection for sure.
Ohh…and according to “Your outlook on life is a direct reflection of how much you like yourself.”…i think i am madly in love with life…so there fore …;)
With Love,
Z
Hi Zeenat! I think we have the same quote collecting hobby
Hi Peggy!
Ahhh, soul food! Marvelous quotes – they are like snack food for the soul, aren’t they? (What’s with me relating everything to food? Could it be my diet?) I hope you DO have the opportunity to stimulate somebody at work – wouldn’t that be a delight? Yay for You for putting these out there!
Love these quotes! Lulu Lemon always has the best ads! For the longest time, I had that red poster of theirs with the quotes and mind, body, spirit advice–all good stuff. Thanks for sharing these!! You are right, they brighten the day!!
Hi Jodi? They had a poster? Geez…that’s what I need to hang in my work space
Hi Peggy,
Lululemon is a great company and I love those quotes.
The one that really stuck out for me was how 99% of all illness is stress related. Ain’t that the truth! How I wish more people realized how damaging stress is and how it is so not needed in our life.
Hi Nadia,
I wish more people realized that stress compromises the balance our bodies need in order to be at ease. I know first hand what stress is capable of doing…and these days, I chose not to let it put me at dis-ease.
Ah, Peggy — I’m agreeing with Joy on loving this one: “Breathe deeply and APPRECIATE the moment. Living in the moment could be the meaning of LIFE.”
So meaningful to me right now on this six-month trip, where I’d found myself looking for life in all the wrong places, duh — and ignoring the very present MOMENT. Great affirmation showing me that I got caught in a brief quagmire (but now I’m free again, hooray).
And you, my friend, always so helpful! Thanks —
Hi Jeanne!
I must catch up on your grand adventure! Breathe deeply – is probably the best advice I give to people. Fresh oxygen enters your blood cells, tension evaporates, your body relaxes and your mind turns its attention to the breath – mindful breathing – helps bring clarity and a whole new perspective no matter what quagmire you find yourself in.
Enjoy your day today!
Friends are more important than money.
Amen to that. I’ve been giving that a lot of thought lately…how we’ve become a society obsessed with money and things instead of taking time to appreciate people.
I love the quotes from Lululemon! And I always smile when I see them on my bag or in the magazine. Thanks for sharing them.
