We write about it
we sing about it
we pray for it
we chase after it
we turn upside down for it
we turn inside out for it
we open our wallets
and try to pay for it
we break ourselves for it
we break others for it
We think love is what others give us
and forget it’s in us, ours for the taking
whenever we’re ready to love ourselves
the way we want others to love us
