The English Garden

Breeze blows summer song
warm sun shines life
bamboo wind chime
overlooks English garden
serenades red rose,
purple lupine, yellow poppy

Oldest girl tosses a ball
Border Collie chases, rolls, tumbles
toddler twins giggle
grownups shake hands
hug hello
mix drinks

Vlassic dill pickles
home-made potato salad
hot dogs, hamburgers
Boston baked beans

Sun glows hot
overstuffed clouds drift slowly
bamboo wind chime sings softly
in the English garden.
